Training. Employment. Empowerment.
A Catalyst for Change
NECAT is an organization based in Boston that focuses on training chronically underemployed and unemployed adults for a successful career in the food services industry. By setting adults up with stable, long-term employment, NECAT aims to be a catalyst of social change within their community and beyond.
The clean, branded design is responsive on all devices, including mobile.
A Modern Information Hub
The site acts as a hub of information for both prospective students, current students, and alumni.
NECAT needed a website that could act as a modern information hub for prospective students, prospective donors, current students, and alumni. With on-going events, information sessions, announcements, and news, NECAT had a lot of valuable content to present on their website, and we wanted to do it in a digestible, engaging way that utilized modern design and functionality standards.
Our design team also wanted to make sure the site was strongly branded -- we used their signature orange color as an ongoing design element, as well as the angular “slices” that separate each content section, made to imitate the cut of a knife.
“side•sea has a highly experienced team and they quickly knew how to translate our work and mission into a visually strong website. We really enjoyed working with their easy-going, yet professional team. They are responsive, friendly and committed to working with organizations trying to make a positive difference.”
Easy Access and Streamlined Navigation
Our design and content team created dedicated pages for alumni and students, prospective students, and news and events. The straightforward navigation makes it easy for visitors to get to exactly where they need to go on the site. NECAT has the ability to broadcast announcements and upcoming events to their students, and prospective students can easily apply for the program on the website, as well as see dates for information sessions. A prominent “Donate” call to action stays at the top of each page, and seamlessly takes users to NECAT’s Hopsie donation form.
